Until now the user experience for visualization creation on SAP Lumira Cloud has been very different from SAP Lumira desktop. With the latest SAP Lumira Cloud release SAP has unified the data discovery experience between SAP Lumira desktop and SAP Lumira Cloud. Users are now provided with a consistent Visualize & Compose room on all Lumira products!!! The change allows to visualize data from Lumira datasets and compose Lumira stories directly on SAP Lumira Cloud without the use of SAP Lumira desktop. It also means that now users are able to publish Lumira Stories from SAP Lumira desktop to SAP Lumira Cloud and share them with edit rights to their peers allowing collaborative work on stories.

The move to the common user experience does come at a cost of migration of your existing SAP Lumira Cloud visualizations. You will notice that when you open your existing visualizations that were created directly on SAP Lumira Cloud (these are indicated by a red bar chart icon), that you will be prompted to convert to the new visualization tool. You will have the option to Convert Now or Convert Later, converting later lets you explore the data further using the old tool, but not save any modification unless you convert to the new format.

During the conversion we will aim to find the best possible match for your visualization. However, depending on the complexity of the chart, we may not always be able to find a 100% match and hence some chart configurations will require additional manual steps to complete the migration. Converting does not override your visualization until you save it and specifically specify that you want to override the existing visualization. Once converted you will see the same visualize room that you are already familiar with from SAP Lumira desktop.

Also with the unification of the user experience, we have moved the visual discovery into the visualize room. You can find it in the Related Visualization section by clicking on the light bulb.

The advantage of having the related visualizations as part of the visualize room is that it is context aware and will change based on which measures or dimensions you have already selected. In the example below I dragged the National Team dimension into the chart area and my related visualization suggestions have been adjusted.

Also with this release we provide the ability to schedule data refresh from SAP Lumira desktop to SAP Lumira Cloud, you can read about it at Scheduled data publishing from SAP Lumira desktop to SAP Lumira Cloud
