Conflict Minerals Compliance: Report quick and precise through your supply chain

The Conflict Mineral Law requires U.S. and certain foreign companies to report and make public the use of so-called “conflict minerals” from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries in their products. SAP AG extended SAP® Product Stewardship Network to offer a solution focusing on the pressing needs around Conflict Minerals.

Running on the cloud, SAP Product Stewardship Network provides a collaborative framework to share essential product information and documents with trading partners to meet formal reporting needs, to handle conflict mineral obligations and perform sustainability assessments. The holistic solution to solve EHS compliance across the entire supply chain is developed as a joint initiative with leading manufacturers.

SAP Product Stewardship Network supports the exchange of declarations based on the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template created by the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition® (EICC®) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). This template, which many companies have already adopted, serves as a standardized means of reporting compliance with conflict minerals legislation. Moreover the solution runs a validity check with the actual certified smelter lists provided by the conflict-free sourcing initiative® (CFSI®). Finally SAP Product Stewardship Network will assess conflict minerals related data and generate the required reports needed to comply with the SEC’s final rule.

With SAP, customers receive a holistic solution to solve their EHS compliance and conflict minerals challenges. The well-established Product Stewardship Network will determine the presence of conflict minerals as well as manage the complex network of suppliers and distributors. As a customer you can benefit from a complete solution compared to spreadsheet-based framework toolkits, reduce the cost of compliance and integrating safety into your daily operations.
