SAP provides various channels for you, customers, partners and interested professionals, to get an individual approach to the  SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Depending on your specific expertise, needs, business scenario or project phase one channel is better suited than another.

For those who are new to the SAP HANA Cloud Platform (and all the others as this channel is totally new) I recommend the new landing page http://hcp.sap.com with a comprehensive information on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform – „a central location to provide all information needed to learn about the platform“ like Matthias Steiner writes in his announcement blog …. In the SAP Community Network developers can find and share in-depth technical information in the developer center with its blogs, documents and forum discussions.

And at SAPPHIRE Steve Lucas (President, SAP Platform Solutions) spend the whole time of his public press/analyst conference on SAP HANA Cloud Platform! In this video Steve starts at 15:30 min and talks 30 minutes about the Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering and showed various demos of the platform’s functionality. I can only recommend watching this video to obtain a quick impression about the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

Innovation Projects for Closer Interaction

For closer interaction SAP regularly offers so called ‚innovation projects‘ as part of the SAP Customer Engagment Initiative (CEI), that yield various benefits like a deeper product experience, exchanging knowledge and feedback with SAP HANA Cloud Platform experts (including product owners and experts from SAP) or influencing the future product design and roadmap.

From the newest innovation projects 2014-2 of the CEI many projects address the SAP HANA Cloud Platform from many different angles. To find  projects more easily I have extracted the HANA-Cloud-focused ones with a short description and a link to the detailed project registration site. Simply review those projects interesting for your organization and register for the initial call. After that call, you decide to take the next steps in the collaboration.

Please note that these projects are open for registration until June 13th. After this date you directly need to contact the project lead (named ‚contact customer engagement‘) for a subsequent registration.

Development Experience on SAP HANA Cloud Platform

With this initiative we would like to engage with customers and partners and to discuss requirements and current needs in all the aspects of application development experience on SAP HANA Cloud Platform. We would like to gain a better understanding for the expected application development experience with the platform.Currently, customers and partners of SAP HANA Cloud Platform can develop cloud applications using different programming models – e.g. Java EE, server-side JavaScript. In addition, it is possible for application developers to incorporate application programming frameworks of their choice (e.g. Spring Framework and the like) and to use all this in Maven enabled local development environment. Yet, a development experience  is more than this.

We are very open to discuss with customers and partners the whole application development experience aspect of the platform. This includes but is not limited to

  • your expectations when exploring the platform capabilities via documentation and examples,
  • your expectations for application services that would work best for your application needs,
  • your expectations for service consumption models that would best fit your application needs
  • and so on.

We are open to discuss in big technical details with customers and partners topics in areas of programming models, runtime capabilities, application service portfolio, development tools, mesh-ups of different services and in general technologies that are required by the application developers to innovate more effectively on top of SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
