“Real Innovation is changing before you are forced to.”

This was one of the many inspiring quotes I took away from the keynote yesterday at Sapphire Now by Capt “Sully” Sullenberger, the American Hero who safely landed a plane in the Hudson River in 2009.

No doubt yesterday’s Keynote by Captain Sully left you inspired and ready to make a difference. Why not start by taking back some fresh ideas for your company? As another day at Sapphire begins I would like to summarize some of the highlights you can expect today for the chemical industry.

Eastman Chemical Company recently implemented a custom Industrial Hygiene application integrated into existing SAP business infrastructure. The Industrial Hygiene Information System, or IHIS, utilizes linkage with business functions such as HR, Product Stewardship, Manufacturing, and Maintenance for its framework and to feed automated functionality for industrial hygiene business processes concerning the identification, evaluation, and control of potential employee exposures in the workplace. Their session today at 1:45pm will provide an overview of the application, highlighting the successful integration into existing business functions as well as the successful development and execution of custom infrastructure and functionality.

Dow Chemical Company will lead a discussion on planning and managing a data migration project that delivers high-quality data, on time and on budget. Hear how they eliminated data errors when migrating data from its legacy systems to SAP Business Suite software using the SAP Data Services Migration Accelerator application by BackOffice Associates. This session begins at 9:00 am.

At 4:15pm you can hear how Milliken achieved GHS compliance and increased process efficiency through SAP EHS Regulatory Content. Textile Rubber & Chemical will speak at 3pm about their HANA implementation and debunk the myth that HANA is only for Large Enterprises. Hear about their decision making process and benefit from their lessons learned.

Other Process industry-specific sessions and demos include In-Memory Computing, Sustainable Innovation, Predictive Analytics, Mobile Asset Management, and EAM.  Use the Agenda Builder to find exact locations of these sessions.
