Now I know why we designed the system with 60″ inlet ducts when the specs called for 12″.

Sapphire is now if full swing and the reports back out of Orlando are very positive. How could they not be after that inspiring Keynote with Captain Sully? What an amazing story and an amazing speaker. Tuesday was also packed with interesting sessions for the chemical industry.

We had the session lead by Dupont on B2B and Ariba which examined critical end-to-end supply chain processes that improve procurement efficiency, reduce transactional cycle time, and increase supplier performance visibility. They accomplished this by establishing and/or interfacing with key Portals to further facilitate Purchase Order Collaboration and Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) processes using SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SNC) and the Ariba Supplier Network Portal. B2B processes via the Portal provide a single view of supplier performance and related information to buyers and other stakeholders as a prerequisite for disciplined Supplier Performance Management processes. DuPont is enhancing the purchase order process by capturing Order Create, Order Change, Order Response, Ship Notice, Delivery Receipt, and Invoice information. Some of the examples included Delivery to Request, Delivery to Promise, On Time Payment to Supplier, Spend vs Contract, etc. The SMI process sends Demand Forecast and Inventory information to suppliers in order for them to manage raw material inventories at DuPont.

There were also industry sessions covering MII, Product Compliance, S&OP powered by HANA, Transportation Management, Predictive Analytics and Sustainable Innovation.

Wondering what’s interesting for Chemicals on Wednesday at Sapphire? Check out this blog.

There is no doubt that everyone attending Sapphire Now in Orlando this week will need a much deserved break. Are you in Orlando this week or following online? Let us know how your experience has been.
