In my recent blog, The Internet of Things changes everything – but what´s driving it? , I spoke about the impact of new technologies on manufacturing. For leading manufacturing experts, the Internet of Things (IoT) is the most important trend of our time. McKinsey predicts that by 2025, Internet of Things applications could have an economic impact of $900 billion to $2.3 trillion a year in manufacturing alone. The potential for cyber-physical systems to improve efficiency in the production process and the supply chain is vast and some companies are already seeing the benefits of this technological evolution.

iotWordcloud.jpgAt SAPInsider Las Vegas, I spoke to Lauren Bonneau from SAPInsider about this major shift that is currently happening in manufacturing, but that also impacts R&D, asset management and service. Watch this 11-minute interview and find out how we at SAP aim to help our customers to be prepared for this industrial revolution.

SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando provided the opportunity to give a short interview on the show floor on this topic as well, please watch this video summary for your convenience.
