On 27th of May 2014 we conducted the first SAP HANA CodeJAM session in Kuala Lumpur. It was done in conjunection with SAP University Alliance and Malaysia's Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
MDEC is located in Cyberjaya which has been identified by the government as the focus area of development for the ICT industry. It is strategically located 30 minutes away from KLIA to facilitate travelers arriving via plane.
We had more than 40 participants from 10 Malaysia Universities and our industry partners (Petronas, AMD, etc.) turning up for the event. The participants installed and setup HANA client + studio on their machines while connecting to a HANA ONE instance. I was impressed by the technical skill possessed by the participants and their eagerness in SAP and HANA. Many of them have taken the initiative to continue in the communication with me on questions and follow ups in various aspects of HANA.
