Predictive Analytics for Procurement Lead Time Forecasting at Lockheed Martin Space Systems  (0204) (Tuesday, 3:00 – 4:00)

Discover how Lockheed Martin worked with SAP’s Data Science Organization to implement “Procurement Lead Time Forecasting” to determine when to order materials prior to entry into the supply chain. Even when good procurement processes and data discovery tools are in place, procurement costs can be further optimized for requests from “stock to dock”. Algorithms were developed and implemented in SAP HANA using the ‘R’ library extensions to processes inventory stock levels and the quantity needs by delivery location. Factors such as pricing, historical lead times, and other variables were analyzed to produce higher confidence levels in lead time forecasting.
