It’s time again for all customers of SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense to benefit from a new version (see also Continuous evolution rocks in the cloud):

SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense, May 2014 Version is available as of today

As preparation for this version we again intensified the interaction with our customers via a new customer interaction platform where our customers can propose and vote for required functionality on a Social Media style basis. The goal was to have a clear picture so we can build exactly what our customers need on top of our new innovations; everything we develop is being used immediately as soon as it is available.

So there are many enhancements to boost customer productivity. I want to give a snapshot of some highlights:

Enhanced Compliance Checks

Every company has company-specific policies and wants to have the expenses to comply with these.

Therefore we extended the capabilities to check those limits with the ability to setup sophisticated rules – for example to find duplicate expenses or manually entered expense rates which exceed system defaults. As a result we have again reduced auditing effort and increased compliance and accuracy.

Enhanced Mobile Capabilities

Mobile usage is constantly increasing, and mobile devices are getting the key device for capturing expenses and submitting expense reports. Therefore, we extended the capabilities for the Windows Phone 8 and the iPhone app. Please press “update” in the app stores of your smartphone to benefit!

Mix and Match for planning and booking

Our customers love the integrations to our online booking partners like Amadeus e-Travel Management, GetThere and cytric i:FAO; but in parallel they like the fantastic capabilities of using Traxo. From now on our customers can use both in parallel. Itineraries are synchronized between the online booking partner, Traxo and SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense to have the full view on both ends. You never need to manually enter bookings which have been made separately.

Multiple Itineraries

You are a busy business Traveler? Remember last time when you needed the flexibility to plan with different options? With the May release of SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense you can now build more than one itinerary in the same timeframe and can decide flexibly until the last minute which one is best for you.

Additional Country Support: Japan

SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense already had the strongest capabilities regarding country support in the market. It is ready to be used in more than 100 countries and now comes with 22 dedicated countries versions supporting specific regulations for both local tax and local legal requirements out-of-the-box. Adding Japan shows the continuous dedication of SAP as a world leader and country expert since more than 42 years.

There is more to come – for example a convenient reimbursement history, the ability for assistants to create expense reports with Microsoft Outlook or via e-mail…
