Remember that great song from the Muppets – Movin’ Right Along?

And the image of Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear driving along – belting out these lyrics:

  • Movin’ right along in search of good times and good news,
  • With good friends you can’t lose,
  • This could become a habit!
  • Opportunity knocks once let’s reach out and grab it (yeah!),
  • Together we’ll nab it, We’ll hitchhike, bus or yellow cab it!   (Cab it?)

So how does this mental image relate to Transportation Management and SAPPHIRE_Now 2014?   Yesterday I listened to a steel industry company – NIBCO – describe their recent 19 week implementation of SAP Transportation Management – and the details made me start humming this song – about  transportation!

They certainly “moved right along” and – in only a few months – NIBCO  has already:

  • Increased business by 1.7%
  • Reduced freight spend  1.3%
  • Reduced hundredweight cost by 3%
  • Reduced hhipment planning –  2 hours down to 15 minutes
  • Achieved user acceptance and satisfaction!

If you care about driving the efficiency of your transportation processes, helping your planners make high quality and profitable plans and being able to drive more with less – I highly recommend listening to their story and hearing the details on this link.

Also you can meet NIBCO live – along with their implementation partner Novigo that supported them on the project, at SAPHIRENow, June 3-5 in
Orlando.

  • You can see them at ASUG on Tue, June 3, 12:30pm – 1:30pm, in the Mill Products Track, Room S220C
  • You can see them at SAPPHIRE on Tuesday, June 3, 2:00-2:45, Industries Microforum IN132

And if you would like to relive your youth a bit – or maybe brighten your mood – sit back and think about the 2 Muppets driving in a car heading across the country while singing the words…..

Happy Singing!

  • Movin’ right along.
  • Footloose and fancy-free.
  • Getting there is half the fun; come share it with me.
  • Moving right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
  • We’ll learn to share the load.\
  • We don’t need a map to keep this show on the road
  • Movin’ right along…..

Would be great if you could give us an update on how you used the BW with TM BW BI content for Reporting (InfoCubes, DS), reports, etc.)

Also how much reporting is done in the TM Transaction system vs. BW?

Would be great to talk with your team to see how good the BW Delivered Content for reporting was, or how much it needed to be customized.

    Thanks

    Jay
