With ASUG-SAPPHIRE NOW just around the corner, I wanted to share with you highlights of what you can see at the event regarding our mobile asset management and field service solutions. In fact, today we put out a press release "SAP Simplifies and Unifies the Mobile Enterprise" where SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 is released today and our apps (SAP Work Manager 6.1, SAP Inventory Manager 4.0, and SAP CRM Service Manager 4.1) coming out running on SMP 3.
My first entry in the series will highlight our new GIS mobile capabilities. Mobile GIS such as Esri mobile will enable users to manipulate interactive maps and to obtain extremely detailed information on the geographic region in question. Mobile users can efficiently find jobs and assets nearby, filter for equipment by location and view work orders from a map. This can completely eliminate paper data entry and the hunt for the right information. Field workers will see a huge impact on speed, responsiveness, quality of output, productivity of resources and reduction of resources needed to maintain operations.
