Please tell us about yourself
I am the BI Manager in the Global Enterprise Technology team at eBay Inc. I manage the BI development and architecture teams, as well as the vendor relationship. My team is responsible for implementing technology solutions for business needs in the analytics space. It involves working with technologies such as SAP HANA, BI/BusinessObjects, BW, Mobile BI, and Predictive Analytics, etc. I have 12 years of IT industry experience primarily in the Business Intelligence domain. I will be completing 4 years soon at eBay, and enjoying every bit of it.

Every minute we are working to simplify our customers’ shopping and payments experience, both in online and offline world. Ebay inc encourages innovation and adoption of new technologies to enable business in the best possible way. We saw promise in SAP HANA technology and how it could enable our business and solve complex problems. That’s why we became early adopters of SAP HANA and are working on multiple SAP HANA and predictive analytics projects. We are currently building one of the biggest signal detection system for our business partners using HANA.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
I love rowing and go to different spots in the San Francisco Bay to row. Sometimes I go sculling just by myself and sometimes with my rowing team. I also like Scuba diving. Exploring sea and reefs is a very beautiful experience and I love it every time I go.
Q: Tell us about your session at ASUG 2014
The session is about sharing eBay’s Analytics journey and how we are building the future technology roadmap in Business Intelligence. I plan to share how we are enabling business, increasing user adoption and working on some innovative solutions on Big Data.
