Inval D Config
A scenario where certain wage types depend on other wage type and calculated value may be with in boundaries defined, or limits the calculated value; for this we are using INVAL D as indirect module and module variant differs as briefed below:
INVAL D “ A “ Transport Allowance
- 2000 – Basic upto Rs. 15000
- 5000 – Basic up to Rs. 30000
- 10000 – Basic up to Rs.99999999
INVAL D “B” Special Allowance:
SA = 10% of Basic + 20% of HRA + Rs. 2000 for employees having Basic above Rs. 15000
SA = 10% of Basic + 20% of HRA + Rs. 5000 for employees having Basic up to Rs. 30000
SA = 10% of Basic + 20% of HRA + Rs. 15000 for employees having Basic up to Rs.99999999
INVAL D “C” Variable Pay:
VP = 10% of Basic + 30% of HRA, not exceeding Rs. 3000 for employees having Basic above Rs. 15000
VP = 10% of Basic + 30% of HRA, not exceeding Rs. 5000 for employees having Basic up to Rs. 30000
VP = 0 for employees having Basic up to Rs. 99999999
Step: 1 Copy wage types for respective model wage types: TC – OH11 or PU30
V_T52DZ
Step:2 Check the permissibility with respect to IT0008, ESG and PSA : V_T512Z, V_511_B
Step:3 V_T511
Characteristics of wage types:
96BS, 96CA, 96HR have similar Characteristics.
96SA, 96TA, 96VP Characteristics:
Similarly other two wage types (96TA, 96VP) too have Indirect valuation as INVAL D.
Step:4 V_T510
Assign the wage types to respective pay scale structure – Pay scale type, Pay scale Area, Pay Scale Group and Pay scale level to get defaulted in IT0008
Step:5 V_T539J
Wage type valuation:
As Basic and conveyance are independent so valuate them as follows:
As per the requirement special allowance and variable pay s dependent on other wage types so here in valuation table we need to maintain under PRZNT and call respective wage types and percentage.
Step: 6 V_T7INA1
Allowance Grouping
Step: 7 V_T7INA3
Assign Allowance Grouping to Pay scale grouping.
Step: 8 V_T7INB1
Here provide the base wage type on which other wage types are dependent.
Step: 9 V_T7INA7
Setting up the allowance rules for pay scale groupings for allowances by assigning wage types to Basic slabs which are groupings for basic salary grouped under blocks or slabs.
Step:10 V_T7INA9

Hi Sai,
Could you plaese explian me when to B,D,I model variant & what is the concept of add to total ,input combination & time unit measurement...
hi Pallavi,
For India we use indirect valuation - I only
Variant B - when the wage type is dependent on other wage type and this is defined in valuation table.
Variant D - is similar but here we can define the limit of wage type.
Add to total - this characteristics assists the wage type to add to total which is again depends on Processing class ie /101
Input combination - a wage type can have Number or amount depending on requirement we can give this.
Time Unit and Measurement - number combination is used we can define this characteristics too.
Hope this will help you kindly let me know for further quiries
Thanks and Regards,
Sai
