If the SAP Product Mobile Server (running Agentry) was installed using the SMPTMP serial keys (which are due to expire the running Server at the end of the following months: January, April, July, or October) and you find that after re-launching the Server (or the Agentry Service was restarted), that an error displays on the client device or in the Server's LOG StartUp file: License Expired then you will need to react to this situation to get the Server running again as expected.

Please note that the SMPTMP keys located in the SAP Software download area under the SAP Mobile Product or Agentry location are for Development / Test / Demo use only. These serial keys are not for Production use. If you require a Production Server License then be advised that those are a unique set of installation keys that are permanent (Server never expires) but require a signed SAP purchase agreement. This would first be coordinated through your SAP Account Executive and then a support incident is opened on the SAP portal (information follows).

To resolve any expired Development / Test / Demo server installed with the SMPTMP keys, you must retrieve the current SMPTMP key file from the SAP Support portal under the Software Download Center. Navigate to either the Agentry installation download area or to the Mobile product download area and pull the SAPSMP txt file. Within the file you will notice an expiration key along with a date of (server) expiration.

From your affected (expired) Server root directory, navigate to and open the Agentry.ini configuration file. You will be changing the ExpKey value in this file. Before changing any entry in the file, it is important that you first compare the DevKey and the UserKey to that in the SMPTMP txt file. They must match before you make the change to the ExpKey. Only if they match, then change the value of the old ExpKey to the new Expiration Key from the SMPTMP txt file.  Ensure that you have copied it correctly or your Server will not restart as expected (you will receive an invalid license key message in your Agentry LOG Startup file). Finally, restart the Agentry Server (or Service if that is how the Server is intended to launch). Check your Start-up log to ensure that there are no errors. Log in and connect with a client (ATE) device to test your server again ensuring there are no license expired display message.

Then, if successful, be certain to apply this procedure to any other Servers in which the SMPTMP keys were used during installation.

To request a permanent License key, you may log your request at http://support.sap.com under component MOB-SYC-SAP (SAP backend) or MOB-SYC-IBM (Maximo backend).
