Hi folks!

In this blog post I will provide information about Touch POD usability, provide some hints, tell about its features. I will keep it updated once find\face new features.

  • Scrollbar size.

Some scrollbars in the Touch POD can be widened using Windows scroll sizing option. You may need to widen them if you use Extra Large Display Size (you set it in POD Maintenance) for example. However, some of them cannot.

Some scrollbars are part of the LSF controls, which are used in the plugin. The height\width for the scrollbars used by LSF controls that do not use native HTML scrollbars (i.e.;  LSF tables) are controlled by the style sheets (CSS). There are already CSS files developed by SAP to override LSF ones in order to support the medium and large touch POD’s. Theoretically you can implement your own custom style changes to override what SAP have defined although it is not a simple task and can have side effects on other parts of the UI’s if you are not careful. You'd better contact SAP Consultant if you need such changes.

Some scrollbars on the Touch POD are not part of the LSF controls and can be widened. Here is how you set the scroll bar width in Windows 7:

  1. Right click the Desktop and select Personalize (or from Control Panel select Personalize).

  2. At the bottom of the window, select Window Color.

  3. In the next window, select the Advanced appearance settings link.

  4. In the dialog box, click the Item drop down menu.

  5. Select the Scrollbar item. Use the Arrows to increase the size.

  6. Click Apply/OK.

Below is illustrated the widened scrollbar from the default of 17 to 35.  The button bar scrollbars and the Clock in/out plugin (not a touch plugin in ME 6.1) scrollbars
widen. The built in LSF scrollbars, like on the Operation List, which should get replaces as pagers in 15.0, do not widen.

  • Font size

The  font size is set by the style sheets. If you want to override the font size, you can create your own style sheets. It must be done by means of the SDK or NWDI.

  • On-Screen Keyboard

The SAP ME Touch POD offers an integrated On-Screen Keyboard. For details see SAP Note 1790160.
