One for all- how a single platform can empower your product development team (… so that it wins every battle)

I´ve been working with discrete manufacturing customers for over 10 years now. They are all asking me the same questions: How can software help me keep a single source of product data so that I can run my R&D processes more efficiently? How can I leverage CAD data throughout the enterprise – and not
just keep it within the engineering department? How do get an overview of different kinds of product data – mechanical, electronical and software? How
can I bring products to market faster and compete successfully in a global environment?

 

These customers are often working with multi-CAD environments, their product data is stored in several authoring tools and it is quite challenging for them to maintain a consistent and holistic product description.  Dealing with inconsistent product data is time consuming and can easily become a source of error.

SAP AG recently announced its new plan for authoring tool integration, including a strategy to simplify and expand its offering by integrating authoring tools into the SAP Product Lifecycle Management application. We will provide a new authoring tool integration platform which will help our customers deliver innovative products and services in a shorter time to market.
