Good-bye and thanks, Vishal!

The news of Vishal’s departure was a shock to me like many I am sure. John Appleby said it all (and more!) in his blog , Vishal – so long, and thanks for all the fish ,but I thought I would share a little sketch/doodle I put together during a Mentor call/web meeting after I heard the news. Vishal did so much, and I am sure he will continue to make his mark where ever he goes. He will be missed…but not ever far from our thoughts. Thanks Vishal!!!! You were a TRUE champion for us “techies”!

      An Update:

Former SAP executive Vishal Sikka set to be new CEO of beleaguered Infosys - The Economic Times

Infosys really needs someone of his stature to turnaround 🙂

There is another interesting article here: http://profit.ndtv.com/news/market/article-infosys-may-appoint-outsider-as-new-ceo-shares-outperform-390149

Infosys is a company with a major executive drain problem and some very interesting problems that are specific to a company of that scale. With attrition over 20%, and still growing the workforce by 25%, so it must be a very interesting place.

As to whether Vishal will join them, well that is rumor and conjecture.

Indeed, I have been following Infosys very closely since Mr. NR Narayana Murthy left the Co. The company has been in total mess since then due to founding member's trying to secure highest post. Even the re-entry of Mr. Murthy could not turn the fortunes of the company. So if at all the news is true, it would indeed be interesting to see what Vishal could bring to the company to turn its fortune 🙂 . Lets wait and watch!
