I took time for installing SAP Netweaver ABAP trial 7.03.
then, I want share with you all problem I had, like this, maybe you'll success more easily than me.
I installed windows server 2008 r2, but FR version.
The 1st SAP warning was about different groups he doesn't find, I mean:
Guests
Users
Power users
I installed the EN language package, but all windozs'group are always in French.
You must rename the following groups:
invites
utilisateurs
utilisateurs avec pouvoirs
by guests
users
power users
I looked for a long long time with a problem for the Hostname:
The Hostname MUST start with a character Alpha (A-Z) and never by a numeric (0-9)
the hostname must be (maximum 13 characters and can have numeric characters after Alphas character) : DEMO01
Don't forget, before to install Sap netweaver, at least for the abap trial version (I don't know for other version, but I'd to know!!!)
install the "network card loopback"
and modify the Microsoft HOST file and the IP address (and associate name you want) you used when you configured the loopback Network card.
I think, with these informations, a first installation will be a littlemore easy for a beginner.
