SAP Codejam Beuningen.jpg

Recently the Dutch User Group VNSG started a new SIG Custom Development, and during the first meeting we asked if there was any interest in organising an SAP Codejam. Well, there definitely was, and as a result we’re ready to announce yet another SAP Codejam event in The Netherlands!

On May 16th 2014 (yes, that will be in about 2 weeks!!) from 13.00 till 19.00 our friends from Newitera will host an SAP Codejam dedicated to HANA native development in Beuningen, The Netherlands. Thanks R. Koendjbiharie for stepping up!

Registration is possible using this link. Registration is free, but you’d better be quick! Past SAP Codejam events in The Netherlands usually sold out fast (no pressure 🙂 ).

So if you are an SAP developer interested in HANA-related development, or in meeting old friends and having great discussions, don’t hesitate and join us for this SAP Codejam.

If you are not able to make this one, there will be another one on ABAP on HANA on June 12th, and another one on HANA Cloud Integration on June 27th.

And in september we’ll continue with even more Codejam events! It’s going to be a long hot SAP summer in The Netherlands!

But to recapitulate: register as soon as possible here and we’ll see you in 2 weeks time in Beuningen!

Hi Fred, Community members with Mac’s,

I received a message that Mac OS X users should use a virtual instance of Windows prepared with some HANA stuff. Do you, or a community member – by any change – have any suggestions which Windows version should be recommended to be used?

    I’m on Mac OS X 10.9.2 with a 2 GHz I7.

Thanks and best, and hope to catch up with all of you on Friday,

    Sander

      Hi Sander,

I’ve got Windows 7 running in VMWare Fusion, which used to serve me just fine. For this CodeJam however I’m not preparing anything on Win, but I’m going to try to get it working on my Mac. HANA Studio is now a normal plugin for Eclipse Kepler, and although not officially supported yet (according to https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#hanatools) I’m going to try my luck.

So, it’s up to you really: if you want to be productive right away, make sure you’ve got a Windows version up and running. Else, you can try the same as me.

      Hope that helps 🙂 .

        Hi Fred,

in that case, I guess I will try to sit next to you 🙂 .

Already have Kepler installed via the description of Rui Nogueira in the “Introduction to SAP HANA Cloud Platform” on the Open.SAP.com platform. So I’ll hope I manage.

        Best,

        Sander
