SAPPHIRE NOW is SAP’s biggest customer event and this year more than ever its worth considering attending or following as much you can virtually. For retailers there is much to see, but I want to highlight three things that are significant to your innovation plans for the future
If you have been following SAP Retail you will have heard about SAP Customer Activity Repository – the data foundation that sits on top of SAP HANA. Bringing together enterprise-wide granular data covering stock, customer and sales it drives the promise of the real-time retail enterprise running from one set of real-time data. With this solution coming out of ramp-up before Sapphire, you will hear about a leading grocer’s experience and the benefits of the implementation. This solution is fundamental to SAP’s vision of the connected enterprise, where barriers across departments and across sales channels are broken down. Hearing what this important customer is saying will provide great insight into how they see their business innovating in the future.
Growth by acquisition is not always without difficulties and SAP has recently bought companies to add to its product portfolio. With hybris, SAP has the best solution to address the needs of e-commerce and we are happy to have two customers that prove whilst this can be a challenge, they are finding real benefits when the product portfolios come together and it’s the customer that wins. Tumi and Hobby Lobby will both talk about their hyris / SAP landscape, the project, including the kick-off, initial phases, lessons learned and future vision.
Finally, SAP is focused on the fashion sector and whilst this was trailed at NRF, the launch of the new solution for fashion will be launched at SAPPHIRE NOW. Bringing together the wholesale, retail and manufacturing processes of fashion retailers on one solution based on a real-time SAP HANA platform, we are excited with the market opportunity and the chance to increase our fashion coverage. Not only are we launching the solution, but we have our four innovation customers at the event to talk about their vision of fashion ad why this launch is so significant. Additionally, Luxottica a fashion management solution early adopter will be featured on a business innovation panel to discuss the impact on their organization.
