My opinion: please don't use SCN as a bulletin board.

      Thanks a lot.

      Hello Fred,

      thanks for your comment.

I understand that you are not an expert in Mill Products & Mining - so you will probably not find this publication of much interest for you.

I have posted this in the area 'SAP for Mill Products & Mining'. I expect that industry folks from Mill Products & Mining are mainly interested in this section of SCN. So I see this as a place to share interesting publications on these industries with industry experts.

      Kind regards,

      Ursula

Ursula - to add to what Fred said, I would expect a blog to contain more than 2 sentences and a link.  Please consider adding more context to your blogs in the future.

      Thank you for listening.

Putting this in context to IT related initiatives - the key message boils down to a "renewed focus

on productivity through technological innovation and an improved understanding of what happens at the operational level".

Sounds obvious, but the tricky part is the second half - how to understand, compare and benchmark, and at the next level identify correlations between operational measures and cost & efficiency.

OEE I have seen in many places, correlation & visulization of operator's impact to real cost & profit much rarer.

There is a lot of space for prediction and insight. Has anyone yet used SAP Infinite Insight (formerly KXEN) in the mining operations space for this purpose?
