Hello SAP Mobile Platform Community,

I have an update below on the SAP Mobile Platform portfolio of courses. Please note that all the SAP Mobile Platform courses have been completely updated to the most recent platform release, inclusive of the Support Pack available as of April 2015. See the following course listings by role for SAP Mobile Platform 3.0. Visit training.sap.com and browse the SAP Mobility solution education portfolio for future course updates on SMP 3.0. All courses are also available in the SAP Learning Hub as self-paced alternatives to instructor-led classroom training.

SAPUI5 and SAP Mobile Platform Integration and Architecture:

The SAPUI5 Architecture diagram shows that SAPUI5 apps can runon mobile phones, tablets, or desktop computers. It shows how SAPUI5 apps can be built to follow the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern, and that views can be built with either the mobile or desktop (common) controls provided by SAPUI5. As a browser is displayed, you know that SAPUI5 apps are HTML-based. Finally, you see the back ends that are supported by SAPUI5, including relational databases and SAP Gateway. SAPUI5 can also be used in conjunction with SMP for an E2E mobile application solution that leverages the SAP Fiori's simple interfaces and user experience.

Aside from the powerful integration features, you will learn how to use the SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 UI Extensions (Open UI) Support. This is extremely powerful, because you can now write custom controls in place of the default Agentry controls. If you are new to HTML5 and the SAPUI5 framework, there are several very useful courses – SAPX04 and SAPX05 and SAPX08 – and NEW SAPX12 - that will take you through an HTML5 development primer (or refresher), the second course will take you through user experience design and development by way of the SAPUI5 framework, and the third course will allow you to explore SAPUI5 even further in building your own Fiori-like application. SAPX12 is a course that teaches you how to build SAP Fiori Apps from the ground up using SAP Web IDE and Reference Apps. If you are interested in learning more about SAP User Experience education, please read an SCN UX Education blog I wrote earlier this year.

SMP 2.3 to SMP 3.0 baseline delta training:

Need to simply get the skill gap between SMP 2.3 and SMP 3.0 filled without having to attend the full core courses again. The courses below are designed to get SMP 2.3 learners up to speed on SMP 3.0. Keep in mind that these are delta courses and it is assumed that you have already taken SMP521 (SMP 2.3 for developers) and/or SMP620 (SMP 2.3 for administrators):

I hope that I have given you valuable information about the new SMP 3.0 courses and course updates to help you determine what your next logical SAP Education course should be. If you are new to SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 and need to review the list of training courses, you can review the role-based education portfolio at: SAP Mobility Education Online Catalog.
