The 7th match of the 2014 Indian Premier Twenty20 tournament will feature a pair of undefeated clubs looking to join RCB at the top of the young tournament’s table. Kings XI Punjab won in very convincing fashion on Friday successfully overhauling Chennai’s 205 runs in their innings whilst the Royals struggled in the crease at times during their opening match victory. With historical data loaded into SAP HANA we can connect to SAP Lumira online to create visualizations that are chalk-full of insights.

In the 18th match of the 2013 tournament the Royals were able to clip the target with 6 balls remaining to win by eight wickets. In SAP Lumira we can easily visualize the match’s results with a Manhattan chart. The Royals took ten wickets in only 113 balls to stamp out Punjab’s innings early.

Even thought Rajasthan was unable to only send a single ball over the boundary they did knock 17 balls to the field limit for four runs a piece. With Lumira we can quickly create a 3D bar chart of each teams fours and sixes.

The Royals successfully surpassed Punjab’s pace again in the second meeting of last year’s tournament in route to an eight wicket victory with six balls remaining. Check out the match’s Manhattan chart.

In the May 9th contest both Ajinka Ranahe and Sanju Samson were unbeaten in route to a combined 106 runs off of 82 balls. In SAP Lumira we can plot the runs scored ball by ball by the Royal’s destructive duo. The pair teamed up for 12 boundaries to cement the season sweep of Punjab.

While Rajasthan defeated Punjab twice in last year’s tournament will Punjab’s new found power prevail over Kings XI past the Royals in Sharjan?
