From 1st-5th June in Orlando experience a huge flow of professionals from across the globe where hands on workshops, customer success stories, new product announcements, and many such activities will take place providing you the opportunity to network with peers.
DevOps for SAP remains a very vital part of this event where sessions will be held on key trends and directions that impact SAP deployment teams; such as SAP agile delivery, next generation test management for SAP, virtualization capability in integration testing of SAP, enhancing SAP Solution Manager and taking it to next level to integrate seamlessly with heterogeneous applications. This year Innovate and SAP Sapphire 2014 are running very near to each other. We hope this will provide the opportunity for you to join Innovate to understand how DevOps for SAP reduces the cost and risk of managing change in your SAP deployments.
The main attraction of DevOps for SAP will be the sessions those will be presented by IBM and SAP speakers together. The DevOps for SAP will be delivered in detail providing the end to end approach to managing change in SAP environment. DevOps for SAP approach helps to understand elements from -how to plan and measure the changes proposed in overall IT landscape that has SAP application- to – how to develop and test the proposed SAP changes – to methodological and real time approach to -how to deploy those changes once tested and finally encircles with operations teams to monitor the changes deployed in the SAP Environment. These stages will be explored precisely in all the sessions delivered under different tracks and will give SAP practitioners and decision makers an opportunity to interact directly with subject matter experts for any queries they may have.
Workshop happens to be an undivided part of any event. Among many other workshops there will be an in-depth workshop on Rational Connector for SAP taking place at Innovate. The IBM Rational Connector for SAP Solution Manager is a joint product of IBM and SAP. It links the industry leading solutions of SAP ALM and Rational CLM to provide a heterogeneous development environment for the development and customization of SAP packaged applications. The instructor led workshop will show first steps in installing, configuring and getting started with the Rational connector for SAP Solution Manager.
We understand that effective requirements management practices have a positive impact on the success of systems and product development. As a part of our continued efforts to provide the best of industry standards to SAP users, IBM Rational and SAP will be announcing a new integration of IBM Rational and SAP products- more details on it will be announced during Innovate.

I am a massive believer in DevOps especially applied to SAP landscapes, although I am always wary of big vendors' offerings with regard to software and tools which support DevOps processes/philosophy.
In other areas of IT, the DevOps tools tend to be open source with interesting license models. I have found traditional software vendors, especially those in the ERP space using old inflexible license models for tools which are not as good as open source community tools. I can't remember how extensible Rational is with other Open source community tools like, Chef, Puppet, Selenium, RunDeck, Cucumber, Github
I wish you luck
