SAP BPC 10.1 ‘unified’ live demo: Chapter 09 – runtime of the data owner

This blog is part of a blog series.

Scope

The business user executes the guided planning procedure.

Role

LOB user

User interface

different end user tools (to show the options; could as well be done in one envionment)

When the LOB user logs on to the BPC homepage, he finds an activity in his in-box (0:14). It is related to the REVENUE_PLAN with the first activity offered as URL. Navigating into it shows the workspace with the navigation to the work-status (1:11). For our context (country AB, year 2014, version B01) he sets the status from ‘unlocked’ to ‘in process’ (2:06). That was it for the first activity. Once he formally completes it (2:28), the actual planning can start. Back to the REVENUE_PLAN can he verify the first activity was completed and the second is available (2:55). In the corresponding workspace does he open the Analysis Office workbook and initialize the plan data by coping actuals of 2013 (3:38). Transferring the data to the backend and saving concludes this step and the user completes this step as well (4:05). Same procedure for the next activity, however this time the BPC input form is used to visually verify the plan data (5:59) and adjust an individual value (6:45). With this the LOB user delivered his plan data and sets the workstatus ‘for approval’ (8:21). Due to this approval step can he not complete this activity but only ‘submit’ it for review (9:10).
