Last week marked the kick-off of the Gartner Business Intelligence and Analytics Conference at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. With almost 3,000 attendees and a keynote theme of The Future of Your Business: Transparent, Decisive, and Personalized, there was sheer excitement in the air and SAP was a part of it in a big way.

To aid attendees with kicking off and getting through their day, SAP hosted a gourmet coffee bar serving cappuccinos’ and lattes.  It was a great opportunity for us to speak everyone about their experience at the event while sharing a great coffee moment.  We were happy to connect and converse with so many great people while better understanding how the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Suite of products and tools can enable them to achieve their business goals.  Many joined us for more insights and demos at our booth #427 on the show floor.  Detailed presentations and demos were also shared in the booth which covered:

  • Big Data Insights for SAP Lumira
  • SAP Predictive Analysis Transforms the Future with Insight Today
  • High Performance Foundation for Accelerated Analytics
  • Faster and Simpler Decisions and Predictions with SAP HANA

Our customer, Tianbiag Qian (TQ) Ph.D VP IT & Business  Analytics at $6B end-to-end supply chain and product lifecycle services global leader, Celestica,
shared their five year analytics journey  leveraging  SAP to improve demand forecast, project factory outputs & reduce inventory. This well attended session delved into how Celestica has become more successful in delivering value to internal users & external customers alike.  In addition, SAP Vice President & GM Business Intelligence, Jayne Landry hosted the round table “Forging an information driven culture in your organization”.  In this power packed session, many companies found out what BI culture is and why they should care more than they might think.   The session also provided best practices to assess and improve BI culture in your organization.

Also at the conference, SAP and Microsoft celebrated 20 years of collaboration and innovation, while launching the latest BI Interoperability at an exclusive RSVP only party.  Held at the one of the hottest night spots in Las Vegas, The Tryst @the Wynn, guests were able to share in the long standing  partnership
celebration while enjoying music from Season 3 The Voice singer Mycle Wastman.  Always innovating, both SAP and Microsoft contributed to the night’s entertainment with musical appearances on stage with Mycle.  Sr. Marketing Program Manager from Microsoft, Mindy Bomonti sang an amazing rendition of “At Last” and yours truly, yes little me, SAP Marketing Director, Deanna Ransom shared the stage with Mycle for a duet “Time of My Life”.  What an amazing time captured in pictures as we all had the time of our life during this conference and guests learned more about delivering trusted enterprise data to your Microsoft Excel users with SAP BusinessObjects.

The 2014 Gartner Business Intelligence & Analytics Conference was indeed the time of our and we hope the information and insights that were shared enhances the lives and strategic visions of our customers, prospects and partners.  Check out the oniste show experience here:  Gartner BI Summit - 2014 on Pinterest
