Students, faculty, and staff get hands-on with SAP Mobile Platform.

April 8, 2014  Durham, North Carolina, USA

Duke University students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to get hands-on with SAP Mobile Platform during a CodeJam led by Jim Jaquet of SAP.

This was a great opportunity to get hands on experience with SAP’s cloud-based SAP Mobile Platform, a free web-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) using the open-source UI5 HTML5 framework.

Participants learned how SAP customers quickly build secure mobile apps with SAP UI5’s new, attractive HTML5 rendering library for client-side UI rendering and programming.

The event began with a brief product overview. Then attendees got hands-on with the assistance of Jim Jaquet, an SAP product expert who helped attendees experience developing a hybrid mobile application accessing a back-end system and leveraging the REST APIs exposed by SAP Mobile
Platform.

Special thanks to Duke University’s Michael Faber and Christine Vucinich for all their help arranging and promoting the event in the
Duke community.

I would also like to thank SAP’s Marcia Walker for attending and supporting Jim!
