On 27th March 2014, Elke Simon-Keller (Vice President of SAP Labs China) was invited by Tel-Aviv University to give a speech to their EMBA students in Marriot. The students are from different industries such as healthcare, high tech, public sector. The participants were executives either running their own business, in charge of business development, marketing, R&D, finance, IT, or lawyers. Even a medical doctor and of course the professor was part of the audience.

They are having an international-management course as part of the MBA program where they are flying to China to visit local companies / factories. They thought it should be very interesting to hear a presentation from SAP in China such as how SAP sells and operates in China compared to other locations. Any specifics related to the local culture, interaction with the government would be interesting to the audience. Further, providing insights into SAP’s HR strategy in China, in particular the aspects to attracting and retaining employees in China for the high-tech industry compared to the West and how do Chinese engineers perceive themselves vs their Western colleagues. Finally, uncovering some of the innovation power in China for China would be also beneficial to the class.
