When I wrote this Going from BusinessObjects Analysis Office to BusinessObjects Design Studio – Mobilize your Spreadsheet? – I struggled with the functionality and now I know why.  I was always highlighted the entire crosstab in Analysis Office and then trying to insert it as a data source to SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio

Many times it didn’t work for me.  So I checked out the Design Studio course on Learning Hub and learned what I was doing wrong – I didn’t need to select the entire cross tab.  I simply needed to right click to get the context menu in the cross tab, select Smart Copy and then go to Design Studio.

I noticed it doesn’t carry over the conditional formatting like the Create Web Application Ribbon does.  But as the video shows it does remember the filtered navigation state.
