ESEFA Visit to Kenya – Strathmore and UoNbi

Drs. Hossana Twinomurinzi and Olufemi Adetunji of the University of Pretoria,  Pretoria, represting the ESEFA project, visited Kenya to present the ESEFA project to Strathmore University and the University of Nairobi, as potential partners

Strathmore
Strathmore University is a highly progressive private University in Nairobi, Kenya. It is located right in the heart of Nairobi. The greatest strength at the University is in IT and the entrepreneurial and industrial focus it gives its students. Through the iLabAfrica project, the University enjoy a great deal of industry partnerships and exposure.

Strathmore has indicated that under the ESEFA project, it will integrate the curriculum in the undergraduate, postgraduate and industry. With industry, this is because of the existing partnerships they enjoy.

University of Nairobi (UoNbi)


UoNbi is currently the no.1 University in East Africa and number 9 in Africa. UoNbi is ideally situated right in the heart of Nairobi with the campuses in very strategic areas across Nairobi. The School of Business and the School of Computing and Informatics, are both keen to partner together to use SAP as part of their curriculum. The meeting was well represented by senior staff from the School of Business and the School of Computing and Informatics.

About ESEFA

The ESEFA (Enterprise Systems Education for Africa) project aims to develop curricula and establish an African university community to deliver enterprise systems (ES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) education courses that are accessible both on and offline to African students interested in broadening their ICT skillsets. The curriculum will be rolled out to 10 ESEFA partner universities in Africa during the 2014 to 2016 period.

The project is co-financed by DEG (Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) with public funds from the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, together with SAP (AG).
