Changed in 1402: New Business Object ‘Activity’ Replaces ‘Appointment’, ‘Email’, ‘Phone Call’, and ‘Task’ Business Objects (SAP Cloud for Customer Only)

Change in version 1402 of the SAP Cloud Applications Studio for SAP Cloud for Customer

To improve performance, the following business objects (located in namespace are no longer available for SAP Cloud for Customer 1402 and have been replaced by the new business object Activity:

  • Activity Task
  • Appointment Activity
  • Email Activity
  • Phone Call Activity

The new business object Activity is located in the namespace

To distinguish between the former business object types in the new Activity business object, you need to use the following type codes:

Business Object Type Code
Appointment 12
Email 39
Phone Call 86
Task 542

What you need to do

With studio version 1405, the old business objects cannot be accessed anymore. Instead, you have to use the new Activity business object.

  • Please adapt your solutions affected by the change during the deprecation period (current studio version 1402).
  • If you encounter any issues, please report an incident or post your question in this forum.

For detailed information on what you need to consider when you adapt your solutions, please refer to the “Changed: Business Objects ‘Appointment’, ‘Email’, ‘Phone Call’, ‘Task’ (SAP Cloud for Customer Only)” document in the studio documentation for version 1402.

Where you can find further information

For more information on the Activity business object including coding examples, open the Repository Explorer in the studio (View -> Repository Explorer).

      Hello Henrike,

      Thank you for the information!

Would you know if there is a document which specify the type code for each business object of ByDesign?

      Thank you for your attention.

      Hi Jacques-Antoine,

No, I'm afraid there isn't a document that specifies all the type codes.

However, in the studio, you can open the Repository Explorer (View -> Repository Explorer) and click Business Objects at the top.If you then select a business object, the type code of this business object is displayed on the right. Here's an example:
      Kind regards,
