The 80s have called… and they want their old-school HR user experience back! Back in the 80’s, HR transactions were overly complicated, tedious, and fraught with red tape. What should have been simple procedures (like requesting payroll advances, adjusting deductions or even a simple address change) required filling out forms in triplicate and routing them through interoffice mail to the HR department. It would take over two weeks before (what could have been a straightforward process) was completed – about how long it took my permed hair to relax.

Well, with Employee Central, you can ditch the 80’s HR user experience along with the shoulder pads and big hair!

What’s New with Employee Central?
Since the February release of Employee Central, companies can empower their employees to make changes and updates themselves, freeing up managers’ time to focus on more strategic initiatives.  Even better, the system has built-in protective audit measures in place to ensure that nothing goes awry.

We’ve added more self-service functionality for qualified employees like, easier access to pay-advances and an ability to make changes to deductions. This frees up time for HR managers and brings employees peace of mind for knowing that these transactions have been completed.

Employees can view information such as recurring deductions and manage changes.

Badges and Rewards
Along with more self-service functionality, the February 2014 release comes with something fun for the Employee Profile page. Badges can be added to employee profile pages to show recognition, work anniversaries, work clubs, and hobbies – the list goes on!  If your company culture is a little more creative, custom badges can be produced. Anyone in for a Hello Kitty badge?
