For a long time I have looked at our Ecosystem as valued customer experts with deep industry knowledge and often close ties with department leaders across many lines of businesses (LoB). From the very beginning SAP has supported industry- and LoB specific needs, and a real shift is underway to focus the entire company to an audience based approach.

I think, especially for our Partners around the globe, this is really good news. Let me give you an example.

In my recently created role I am supporting routes to market for Analytics solutions, so my job is to make it real easy for our Partners to do business with us (my focus is on visualization (SAP Lumira) and BI 4.1). At the same time I am embedded in a team that drives our analytics
business for audiences
. I have close ties to the industry and LoB folks on my team, each specialized on a particular area.

Collaboration with SAP is becoming easier across all areas. As just announced at SAP’s Annual Channel Meeting arranged by SAP Spain, 2014 will be the year of simplification. SAP co-CEO Bill McDermott said “Because, if you look at this world we’re in, it’s a complex place… [Customers] are trying to get this complexity out of their lives, they’re trying to simplify things so they can execute their plans”.
