Last month, Google announced their $3.2B acquisition of NEST Labs – maker of the now iconic NEST connected smart thermostat.  While it is still early days, this is clearly part of a larger ‘connected home’ strategy from Google.  On thing that is clear is that, in one fail swoop, Google has become a legitimate and formidable player in the DR (Demand Response) space.  There is a great article from Intelligent Utility on this topic that can be found here – http://www.intelligentutility.com/article/14/02/what-does-google-acquisition-nest-mean-dr?amp&amp&amp
