SAP HANA Race! Think you‘re fast?
SAP University Alliances is giving students from all over the world the chance, with the cooperation with SAP partners, to design and prototype the fastest cars they can build. With the use of highly sophisticated simulation, of F1 cars developed by rFactor, the SAP HANA Race participants will duel each other on the rFactor engine. To achieve their goal, the contestants should build an Artificial Intelligence Algorithm capable of driving Formula 1 cars as fast as possible.

On the virtual Formula 1 racing car we can find more than 100 sensors that measure brake pressure, torque, suspension, gas consumption, etc… Using the speed and efficiency of SAP HANA, these data is analyzed in real time and allows the built-in algorithm to immediately make the right decision. Whether it is braking, steering, slowing down, accelerating etc…
Utilizing SAP HANA processing speed and real time decision making, the SAP HANA Race will showcase the greatest machine learning processes and algorithms. The participants will go through several races throughout the year. This way they will be able to fine tune and perfect their machines. The Races will be held during SAP major events in 2014. These races will also take place online and will be open to the public.
So we invite all Formula 1 fans to join us and keep an eye on the SAP HANA Race!
