Lumira Practice: Creating Custom Calculation with Text Strings

I’ll create a list of customers and then create a calculation combining the customer ID number with the customer.

Here are the steps:

1) Filter for customers from France

2) Create a calculated field combining the customer ID and and the customer name fields

3) Display the combined field in a table

Step 1:

Filter for customers form France

Step 2:

Next I will create a custom calculation:

I am using a custom calculation dimension.

Next, I tried the Lumira Concatenate function, but that only accepts two arguments.  I had more because I wanted to include the word “Customer” before the customer ID and a space between customer ID and customer name.

So the “+” sign also works to combine text fields.  Also, note that the customer ID is a numeric dimension but I didn’t have to convert it to text.

Step 3:

Then I can display the combined field in a table:

Note this was done with Lumira 1.15 Desktop.
