SAP River: Using OData Calls

SAP HANA Academy’s Phillip Mugglestone examines the OData capabilities available in SAP HANA Studio when developing applications with SAP River.

Phillip shows how the OData Calls window of SAP River creates documentation that outlines all of the OData calls a user needs for their application. The OData Calls window displays the URLs that can be used to call data and metadata on an HTML 5 browser.

The OData Call window in SAP River provides a user with extensive documentation on how to read entities and rows, and on how to create, update and delete data. Philip lauds how useful OData can be for developers as it helps them to get up to speed on what they need to do for a wide range coding options. OData calls provide solid examples of code and simply displays what needs to be put in the body of the code if the developer wants to do an update, a creation, a post operation, or put operation.

The documentation that OData Calls window contains is extremely helpful when developing in SAP River.
