Google Maps Geo Analytics in SAP Mobile Dashboards
This week, I am thrilled to have pushed out our new CMaps Analytics HTML5 publishing option for SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards. Using Google Maps enterprise services as the base, we now can now layer the same interactive geo-dashboard experiences with mobile enhancements like location awareness, directions, and touch-optimized interactivity for selecting and analyzing assets.
We crammed all of the powerful mapping capabilities we previously had in our Adobe Flash based map into HTML5, so you can push dashboards to mobile without installing any additional server software. This exciting new functionality does rely on BI4.1, so customers who have not upgraded can’t take advantage of mobile publishing quite yet. For those of you who are running BI4.1, you can download and start building mobile location intelligence for free.
WHAT KIND OF GEO-ANALYTICS CAN YOU BUILD?
Here is a great example of a custom heatmap example that I put together this morning during our Tech-Tuesday webinar. After demonstrating the dashboard, I illustrate what it looks like via mobile publishing. If you want to continue watching, I explain how to put this kind of dashboard together. The dashboard source files are also available for free at Centigon Knowlwedge.
HOW TO GET STARTED?
If you haven’t started mobilizing dashboards yet, we have put together an article to help you plan, which was based on Sarah Guo’s article on dashboard optimization for mobile. Mobilizing dashboards does not come without some re-configuration and possible re-purposing due to performance and data volume constraints. Once you have flushed out your mobile dashboard plans, you can easily inject CMaps Analytics. Visit the website and get a free trial download
