How to become a SAP HANA Distinguished Engineer
I wanted to put a little call to action together for SAP HANA Distinguished Engineers! Are you, or is someone in your team:
– A hands-on expert in one-or more area of SAP HANA
– A minimum of 12 months experience and end-end project lifecyles
– Socially active and has contributed a number of pieces of technical content back to the community
If so, please check out SAP HANA Distinguished Engineer Qualification Criteria in more detail! We would love to extend the presence of Distinguished Engineers, and we put together a new Nomination Form.
If you’d like to know more about the program then you can check out the SAP HANA Distinguished Engineer FAQ. But in short, the program is about recognizing those people who are socially active experts, and providing them with recognition.
We do have some expectations of Distinguished Engineers – we are looking for those that continue to meet the above criteria, and those that are not looking to contribute to the community at a later stage, can always join our alumnus – see the SAP HANA Distinguished Engineer Master List for more details. We only have one Alumnus so far, but I expect this to increase in 2014.
In particular, we’d love customer and partner nominations for Distinguished Engineers – we always intended for there to be a healthy balance with SAP employees, but a few Distinguished Engineers got employed by SAP, which has upset our balance slightly!
The HANA Distinguished Engineer Council is community-led and only meets periodically to discuss new HDEs so please expect a delay in response.
