Hi all,

I’m thinking about that a while and today I want to blog it.

How do you bring SCN to the public level around you?

I read a lot about SCN and how some improve their career by directing their customers to the SCN-Profiles.

In my case, I learn a lot by surfing around, reading articles, discuss with others and answering questions.

I like the big thing behind it, Knowing that there are more people than me, surfing Sunday in SCN and talking about new things, SAP brings to the world and how to handle or getting into that content.

But now, I was searching for a statement with SCN, show people, that I’m into SCN and want to bring the community to those, who doesn’t know about it.

But not by just talking about it, I want to have a non-conversation statement.

Just something, I can put on my notebook or my car, that interested people join the community and get part of it.

So, that’s it.

A sticker, decal, badge, label, notebook-skin or however you want to call it.

And here is my problem. In my mind, there are a lot of good suggestions how it could look like, but I’m just a developer and not a graphic designer. (That doesn’t mean, that I’m not having a lot of crazy things in my mind*gg*)

Somewhere I saw someone, who created his own design. I cannot remember who…

What do you think about making a cool design and share it with here.

I made some classic things, but as mentioned before, I’m not that talented 😛 It’s hard, but at least I know where i stand…

But I think, you get the point where i want to go. Having a really cool and unique design…

If you got good ideas or a cool design with such a statement, share it.

Colored are very welcomed and in case of putting it on a notebook, it would be cool, if it has a high contrast with black, because i think most of the notebooks are black out there.

One additional information: Please respect copyrights! 😉

No,  if you read the discussion link, Steffi Warnecke was kind enough to make those designs in response to my musings about changing the SCN badge icons to t’shirt shaped icons.

The result is pretty cool though isn’t it.

But you can contact Steffi and see 🙂

Thanks, Andy, for mentioning me. ^^

@Florian: Those are the results of just a little playing around with Andy’s idea. If you like them, you’ll have to ask the gamification-team of the SCN for the designs, I guess. Because the hand and footprints are they’re ideas (or at least their domain). I just used them to create the little t-shirts. 🙂

Now the final question is, who is the Gamification-Team…

Perhaps i can get my idea to a awesome SCN-Contest!

Thank you all for your responce and sharing your informations..

      Regards

      Hi guys!

Sorry for the delay. I haven’t been away, just too busy 😉

I’ll have to talk to our designer Jodi Fleischman who created our beautiful SCN badges. I don’t know if we could make a file available for SCN members to order T Shirts on their own if they’re interested. The designs by Steffi Warnecke are nice!

As for the idea behind this blog from Florian, I like the idea of stickers – we have some fun stickers created by SAP Mentors – and even better, I’ve been thinking of online badges that people could “wear with pride” wherever they go: Facebook, personal/professional web sites. These could be badges such as “I love SCN”, “Geeks Here”, etc or reputation showcases for SCNers to show their SCN reputation (level, badges) on sites other than SCN, but currently it’s not the highest on our priority list. I’m also thinking of my colleague Gali Kling Schneider who’s working on a project called Ignite which involves SCN banners on other web sites, she might be interested in this discussion.

Thanks for the shout out Laure and sorry for the late response…it was buried 😳

Yes I love the idea of sharing SCN pride! Stickers are a great way but there are others. For example our former shirts and tags. Today each member showcases their badges with pride. I especially love Steffi’s shirts and think it would be great to implement 😉

One idea which I really appreciate was listed in idea place for external badges. This is something we were already thinking of and used to provide for SAP TechEd attendance. A badge members can share on their person sites. As part of  Project Ignite I’m looking into seeing if we can perhaps bring it back. If you like the idea, please vote it up.

          Hi Gali and Florian,

I was thinking about this, and what about if

          a) the Badges icons could be available in larger sizes and people could print them if they so wished and stick them on their pc’s desks, whatever, maybe if people could put sticker paper in their printers then they could make their own stickers from the badges

          b) I really like Steffi’s “t’shirt” badges and they kill two birds with one stone, people get the badge and the t’shirt by having a t’shirt shaped icon

          Andy.

            Hi Andy,

this is an awesome idea. I would love to share my badges on my notebook. Moreover I would love to wear a shirt with some of my badges on it.

            Regards

            Florian
