This particular piece of configuration, in my opinion, really isn't configuration.  It really is just setting variants for several lists, like IW38, IW72, etc.

Here's the configuration location in SPRO.

This screen breaks down into several of main transactions.  IW38/IW39 etc.  For this example, I'm going to select the Order Data.

Again, this breaks things down even further.  Display will be IW39, Change will be IW38, etc...  I'll just pick the display mode.

Now, we finally get to to a familiar screen.  If you press the attributes button, on the top, it will bring you to the standard variant screen.

Now, at this point, you decide to hide fields, add values etc...

The thing I'd like to bring to your attention is some standard naming convention of the Variant Name.  SAP_TCODE_XXXX will be a standard variant that will default for the transaction.  It works anywhere.  Now you can also set a permanent user variant by using U_USERNAME inside of the transaction.  The only difference with these 2 types of variants is that you don't need to select them.

Next Up, we check out Field Selection for Multilevel List Displays of Orders.

For this example, we'll pull up Define Field Selection for Order Data Fields, but all of the other entries in this section will work exactly the same way.  This will relate to transaction IW40.

Again, this section is pretty straightforward, Display Position is your sequence, and the invisible check box.  Again, this is the default that will show up for everyone.
