Just got back from a very good conference (well I got back, but my bags did not), the 69th Annual Symposium for the Process Industries at Texas A&M University. Thoroughly enjoyed the presentations on Safety Instrumented Systems, Control Systems and many discussions on how to reflect these systems in an SAP environment. I felt that everyone there got a lot out of it. Having experienced the full conference I would encourage you to participate in next years event. While covering a number of topics, one of the main focuses of this years conference was on safety instrumented systems, with a complete track on the topic. Very engineering oriented with lots of practical experience in the audience (who were quite willing to participate in the discussions).
The organization has just issued a call for papers for next years conference, and the abstracts are due by May 31, 2014. If you are interested in presenting a this conference you can upload your abstract by using the following link http://psc.tamu.edu/IS-phUploader15.php with the password 2015InstrSym.
