We've got 48 hours to save the planet!

76 locations around the world all jamming simultaneously throughout the weekend.

     Author: Sören Eversmeier, 2013

For the first time Heidelberg joined the Sustainability Jam season which took place in the SAP Apphaus Heidelberg at the end of November 2013. The Sustainability Jam Heidelberg aims at bringing together professionals, students, researcher from the more different fields to co-innovate in an intense and hands-on weekend.

The first day was revealed the secret topic ‘‘AB3’’ to jammers all over the world. In Heidelberg for next three days 4 diverse teams were focusing on this topic with the help of organizers from SAP Design & Co-innovation center. By using Design thinking principles we have created great prototypes that were presented during the last day. Curiosity was that for presenting were used all sorts of methods - video, theatre short scene, Skype, Lego, wigs or devil doll. More about our prototypes on Blog Sustainability Jam Heidelberg and in case you’re wondering how people like it:

Alina Schmid, participant: “I have so many impressions, I can’t process it all. I will remember the amazing people, from different backgrounds and how much I enjoyed talking to them. I learned that everyone can change something and create something. I am not new to design thinking, but one thing that stood out for me was the idea of acting not talking -this is really helpful, otherwise you just get stuck and don’t really progress.”

Karen Detken, organizer: “I liked the motivation of the people, how they were motived by their own ideas. We had no drop outs. We didn’t need to push them to focus. They did it alone because they were motivated.”

First experience with Sustainability Jam was a big success! Thanks to all participants and to Design & Co-innovation center team for organizing such a great event. If you are interested in participation in next Jam season, don't hesitate to find all needed information on the global page Global Sustainability Jam.
