As I started looking at the activities around the implementation of Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals I quickly realized that keeping track of where each country was in its implementation was going to be difficult, if not impossible. Luckily the Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (I am Canadian) pointed me to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) web site which has started to gather information about each country's implementation status.
I found it a good review of where each country is in their implementation, listing which is the main authority, the main pieces of legislation, the scope, and what has been implemented in each country. While not all the information is available for every country, the site is extremely helpful in understanding the stages of implementation.
