Points to be taken care while migrating the Reports from Bex Query Designer to Microsoft Analysis Excel

These are the below few strong scenarios where remigration would be necessary while changing the Bex Queries

  • Structural changes (rows/Columns) specific to property changes like Apply Hierarchy, Modifications in Hide and Show columns or adding new fields in rows and columns (If add columns the order is not comes in Analysis for Microsoft Excel as in Query. So, remigration needed.)

  • Changes in dynamic filter needs a remigration or can be manually changed in Analysis for Microsoft Excel.

  • Changes in Exceptions, Conditions remigration should be the choice even though manual enabling works due to unexpected behavior of Analysis for Microsoft Excel sometimes.

  • If number of characteristic changes with respect to Key and Description are more, then remigration is recommended.

  • Suppress/ display result rows can be handled directly in Analysis for Microsoft Excel

There are some cases which we need to handle in Analysis for Microsoft Excel

  • Exceptions for values and not background should be given in Analysis for Microsoft Excel.

  • New conditions cannot be created in Analysis for Microsoft Excel, should be only from BEX. We can only enable it in Analysis for Microsoft Excel.
  • Highlighting of rows with different color other than Red/Green/Amber has to be done in Analysis for Microsoft Excel.

All the above are scenario based and might have different impact with new scenarios.
