Connect HANA to SLD and Solution Manager

Connect HANA to SLD and Solution Manager

First Step: Register on SLD

To connect HANA to Solution manager you have to register the HANA in SLD

Using Life cycle manager

In this step, you assign the diagnostics agents to the managed systems. You assign a diagnostics agent to each server (virtual host) on which the managed system is running

In this step, you specify all system parameters required to configure the managed system

SQL port  – Port number of HANA instance

User name  – HANA DB user – Should be “System user”

In this step, you verify or add landscape parameters.

Save the landscape objects

Errors :

Symptom:

A CCDB extractor returns the error message “CCDB: A fatal error occured for a store”. Another symptom is that the CCDB Administration reports errors in the column ‘Fatal Errors’ for a managed system.

Solution:

The detailed error message can be found in the application log of the Solution Manager. Call transaction ‘SLG1’ and set object = ‘CCDB’, Ext. Identifier = ‘*<SID>*’ and from date = ‘<Yesterday>’. Search for red entries containing the text ‘Fatal Error…’. Having the detailed error message please search for notes on component SV-SMG-DIA*.

Symptom:

SLG1

Solution:

      Hi Noar,

Good blog. Some questions for you..

HANA Database(1.0)  is part of the ABAP application server.

while performing managed system config. Should I do first for the ABAP system or HANA database ?

Maintaining RZ70 datasupplier from ABAP system..will it not bring the HANA database entry also into SLD and solution manager 7.2 along with ABAP system?

Should I still register the HANA database in SLD separately?

How to verify the HANA database is entry in registered on the solman 7.2 local SLD correctly?

      Thanks in advance

Just as an addition, because this is what I experienced so it might be useful for someone else.

After providing the SLD registration details in HDBLCM the data might not be transferred immediately but waiting for the next trigger for synchronization. You can execute the following command for triggering forced HANA DB synchronization with SLD:

      /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/saposcol -b | sldreg -connectfile /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/slddest.cfg -stdin -oldtransferdtd

or if you don't use the default location of slddest.cfg file (configuration file generated after providing SLD details) then define the actual path.

After the execution, you will see the command output like:

Used URL: http://<URL:PORT of your SLD>/sld/ds
      Proxy is not configured.
HTTP open status: true - NI RC=0
      HTTP send successful.
Return code: 200 --- Return message: (OK)
HTTP response: HTTP status code: 200
      Data send status: true
