Connect ERP to HANA server for COPA

Introduction:

The SAP ERP Rapid-deployment solution for profitability analysis with SAP HANA provide functionality for customer to speed up the reporting ans transactional processes in CO-PA by using the SAP HANA database as secondary data persistence.

Prerequisites

• It is recommended to use SAP kernel/DBSL 7.20

• Only an SAP kernel 64-bit is supported. See SAP Note 1700052 if you use a non-Unicode system

• Download HANA Client and HANA studio

1.       Install HANA client on the ERP server

  (You must install the HANA Client on all the application server – Note 1517236 1597627)

  After the installation you will see the folder - C:\Program Files\SAP\hdbclient

2.       Enter the path for the DB client software <lw>:\usr\sap\<SID>\hdbclient in the environment variable PATH for the user <SID>Adm

1.       Restart the server!!!

2.       Go to transaction code SM30 in table DBCON

And create new entries

• DB connection – HANA SID
• DBMS – HDB
• User name – the user name you are creating in the HANA Studio (see next page)
• DB password – password of the user name
• Conn. Info – HANA server FQDN with port 30015

DBACockpit – Test the connection                                  

When you create the connection in table DBCON you can see the connection in the DBA cockpit under DBconnections

To test the connection you need to add the system to System configuration

• System – HANA SID
• Mark the database connection, and choose the name of the connection from the DBcon table

Now you can test the connection :

Test the connection with - ADBC_TEST_Connection

    Go to transaction code SA38 – enter the ADBC_TEST_Connection and execute

                           Select the name of the connection from the checkbox
