This document describes some of the functions that make the planning enabled web template to be user-friendly. Some of the standard enhancements available are
- Select the entire cell content on a click
- Copy and Paste data to Web template
- Jump to next cell on pressing Enter
Let us see in detail how to achieve the above enhancements.
Step 1: Create a new Single Module modification for your Analysis Item in the Internal Display.
Step 2: Define an ALIAS and use the implementation com.sap.ip.bi.rig.Planning
Step 3: Customizations
To achieve the customizations mentioned in the objective, we need to define appropriate parameters for the implementation com.sap.ip.bi.rig.Planning
1. Select the entire cell content on a mouse click
Oftentimes in a planning enabled web template, users frequently edits the planned data. In order to do so, user needs to double-click the input enabled cell to select the entire entry. This enhancement will allow users to select the entire cell content by simply clicking the input-enabled cell once.
To achieve this, we need to create parameter ENABLE_SELECT_ON_CLICK of type Boolean as below.
To deactivate this setting, use parameter DISABLE_SELECT_ON_CLICK of type Boolean value.
2. Copy Paste data to Web template
Sometimes, users might have entered the plan values in an excel sheet and would like to copy and paste it to the web template. To achieve this, we need to use parameter ENABLE_COPY_PASTE.
To deactivate this setting, modify parameter as DISABLE_COPY_PASTE and set it as active.
Sometimes if you have used Scrolling module (com.sap.ip.bi.rig.Scrolling) alongside Planning module (com.sap.ip.bi.rig.Planning), Copy Paste functionality won’t work for scrollable columns and you can paste only for fixed area. Check sap note 1878087
3. Jump to next row/column on pressing Enter
In a planning web template, users might want to have the interface similar to excel, where upon clicking Enter, the cursor should move to next row/column. To navigate to next cell in the same row, define parameter as NEXT_CELL_ROW_FIRST.
For next row of same column on pressing return, define parameter as NEXT_CELL_COLUMN_FIRST.
To disable the above jumping settings, use parameter DISABLE_NEXT_CELL_ON_RETURN and set it as active of type boolean.
More information on Scrolling customizations in WAD is available in the below document.
1. Some of the customizations might be available by default and if’s not available by default, you can do so by using appropriate parameters.
2. All the above customizations will work on a web template built over an input-ready query.
