As someone who has personally produced or executive produced films grossing more than $3 billion, Hollywood producer and sports mogul Peter Guber is one of the successful executives in the history of American cinema.  Famous for having delivered such mega-hits as Rain Man, Batman, and Midnight Express, Guber is on every aspiring screenwriter’s wish list of producers.

At our recent Conversations on the Future of Business event in Laguna Niguel, I had the opportunity to sit down with Peter and ask him what it takes to win his backing for a project. His answer is good advice for anyone attempting to close a deal:  Are your feet, tongue, heart and wallet all moving in the same direction?

In working with Peter and his team to edit and approve this video clip taken from a longer interview, it became clear to me why the man is so successful.  He invests himself in every project with which he’s associated.  Case in point: he personally reviewed all the footage of our interview and recommended to me the exact time stamps of the segments he approved for use.

So I guess I can now brag to my friends that my work was “produced” by Peter Guber!  I hope you enjoy it.

Next up, my interviews with the retired NY Giants linebacker and NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson and the man in the middle of the NY Jets’ legendary Sack Exchange, Marty Lyons.
