Solution Manager Update – What’s in Feature Pack Two?
Support Pack 9 and 10 for Solution Manager 7.1 (Feature Pack Two) has just been released. This release builds on the dual theme of Run/Build SAP like a factory and provides improvements in efficiency, quality and usability. Below is a summary of the key features.

Hello James,
today I've learnedPPM it is necessary that PPM is installed on the same System as Solman.
Can you confirm this? If this would be true, this solution would be applicable to a lot of our customers since PPM (5.0 or 6.0) and Solman are always installed on different SAP instances.

Hello James, any chance that this will change in future and will work if the PPM addon has been installed on another server than Solman? As mentioned, our customers have separate PPM- and Solman system since PPM is mainly not used for IT but business Projects. Thanks & regards Wolfgang
Hi Wolfgang, not sure how this will evolve in the future but my guess is as Solman becomes more integrated into the ALM processes for managing the SAP environment PPM integration will remain as it is. I suggest you log a OSS note with SAP to see if this is the case or there is a workaround. Long term you could look at using Solman server for PPM.
